Since 1983, Automation & Robotics has always been synonymous of innovation and customer-friendliness. We first entered the ophthalmic industry, by collaborating with the Belgian company Buchmann.  That is when our first control and packaging unit for stock lenses came to be.

A&R was the first

• To combine automation and accuracy by developing and integrating its own power measurement device into fully automatic machines; our well-know FOCOVISION.
• To propose complete automated solution for stock lenses, prescription and semi-finished lenses the control, engraving, pad printing, blocking (before edging), packaging and dispatch of lenses
• To meet the requirements of his customers, big names of the ophthalmic industry, A&R was also the first to propose innovative solutions:
• Thickness measurement without contact
• Dual Spectrometer (by transmission to check the colour and by reflection to identify the AR coating)
• Dual Lensmapper, the first instantaneous mapping system on the market to combine the measurement by transmission and by reflection.  The best solution for free-form check: A&R proprietary simulation and calculation algorithms can be use to get the reference map of the expected through power values in the exactly measured lens surface position and inclination at every point.
